About Us

St Albans Tennis Club is a friendly tennis club that welcomes all age groups and abilities.

The Club has six tennis Courts (with keypad code access): four Plexipave courts, two Asphalt courts. Clubrooms have great facilities and BBQ. Free onsite parking.



Hours of play

Club Day: Saturdays from 1pm until approximately 5pm (Clubroom drinks and banter if you feel like staying on).

Weekday Afternoon Tennis: Thursdays from 1.30pm.

Interclub Teams: SATC is affiliated with Tennis Canterbury 2021; we can offer Junior Interclub on Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings. Weekend Senior Interclub. Note: Interclub team registrations close in early September each season.

** Casual memberships are for players who expect to use the courts only on occassion. Contact us if you're unsure if you qualify for this member type.


Interclub

  • Interclub Senior $260
    Interclub seniors pay additional interclub registration fees.
  • Interclub Junior $225
    Includes 14 weeks coaching for children, affiliation fee, interclub registration fee & balls. If Parent wishes to play with their child outside of coaching times they are welcome to apply for an additional adult casual membership to gain court access.

Visitors: may play casual games as a guest of a paid-up Senior member; maximum 5 sessions in a season. $5 per visitor per session - payable in our secure drop-box near the courts entrance.

Coaching

Junior Hotshots
- 8 Weeks

Focusing on introductory concepts and tennis fundamentals. Held during School Terms 1 & 4.

  • Red ball (5-8 years). Build fundamental and perceptual motor skills, key grips, ground strokes, serve, volley and court awareness and game understanding 45 mins.
  • Orange (8-10 years). Progress stroke technique, directional hitting, serving rhythm, basic tactical awareness, and implementation.
  • Green (10-12 years). Advance tactical knowledge, spin on ground strokes and serve. 60 mins. Teen Beginner Squad. Build tactical understanding, fundamental technique on all strokes, single and doubles game understanding.
  • Hotshot Rapids (Red, Orange, Green). Limited to only 4 hotshots players to a coach. This group is attentive and personalized with the aim of progressing development twice as fast.

Teen Social
- 8 Weeks

Build tactical understanding, fundamental technique on all strokes, singles and doubles game understanding. 1:6 Coach/Player Ratio.

Thursday 5:00pm - 6:00pm





Adult Coaching
- 8 Weeks

(Non-Members/Members)

Group Adult Beginner

Build stroke technique, directional hitting, serving, rhythm, basic tactical awareness and implementation, scoring and doubles understanding. 1:6 Coach/Player Ratio.

Thursday 6:00pm - 7:00pm or
Saturday 10:15am - 11:15am




Group Adult Intermediate

Build consistency on all strokes, develop understanding of tactical fundamentals in doubles and singles, warm up and down routines, match routines. 1:6 Coach/Player Ratio.

Thursday 7:00pm - 8:00pm




Cardio Tennis

Fun, social group programme for all ages and abilities. Exercise to music, using a variety of equipment. Workouts consist of warm-ups, cardio segment (drill and play-based activities) and cool down. $15 per session.




Private Coaching

Adult or Junior Non-Members/Members. Available upon request.
